PETRONAS Leadership Centre (PLC) Clinches Dual Honours at MIPIM Asia Awards 2023

PLC emerged as the Silver Award winner for the Best Alternative Project category and was honoured the Special Jury Award for its outstanding design and sustainability features.

In a night of celebration and recognition, PLC emerged victorious at the prestigious MIPIM Asia Awards 2023, held at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong on 6 December 2023. MIPIM, an acronym for marché international des professionnels d’immobilier, is a platform that allows professionals in the real estate industry to showcase their projects and gain recognition for their innovation, sustainability, and impact. The MIPIM Asia Awards, established in 2007, have since become a symbol of excellence and innovation within the Asian real estate industry.

PLC secured the Silver award in the highly competitive category of BEST ALTERNATIVE PROJECT. This category recognises excellence across a spectrum of criteria, mainly the commitment to overall sustainability and alignment with Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles. PLC’s success was attributed to its originality in architecture, facilities, and a strong focus on end-user well-being, aligning perfectly with the key criteria evaluated for the award.

In a stunning turn of events, PLC was also honoured with the Special Jury Award for its outstanding design and sustainability efforts. This accolade, which was not pre-announced, added an extra layer of excitement to the evening. Competing against local and international giants such as The Exchange TRX (Malaysia), GRiD (Singapore), Hong Kong University of Science and Technology Guangzhou (HKUSTGZ) (China), and many more, PLC’s victory underscored its prowess in design innovation and commitment to sustainable practices.

It is undeniable that the success of the inaugural Speak Up Day laid the foundation for the subsequent event, where five colleagues took to the big stage their diverse stories. Heartfelt congratulations are extended to Ismail Ishak, Nurul Ain M Wahid, Nur Afifah Addenan, Goh Ji Lian, and Fadhilah Hanizan for courageously stepping up to share their stories and lessons with the audience. These individuals, a navy veteran, an electrical engineer, a solo traveler, a hiker, and a friend, walk among us donning various hats, serving as event coordinators, content creators, or strategic planners, on other days.

Congratulations to PETRONAS Leadership Centre for this remarkable achievement. The dual triumph at the MIPIM Asia Awards 2023 reinforces PLC’s position as a leader not just in its talent development core, but also in the real estate landscape, setting a benchmark for others to aspire to.
