A Green Milestone: PLC’s Sustainable Design and Operations Recognised at ASEAN Energy Awards

PLC recognised as the winner of the Energy Efficient Building – Tropical Building Category during the Gala Dinner & Awarding Ceremony of ASEAN Energy Awards 2024.

PETRONAS Leadership Centre (PLC) has added yet another feather to its cap by emerging as the winner of the Energy Efficient Building – Tropical Building Category at the esteemed ASEAN Energy Awards 2024. This prestigious recognition reflects PLC’s dedication to energy-efficient operations and its ongoing efforts to maintain its green design through innovative and sustainable solutions.

The ASEAN Energy Awards, held on 27 September 2024, in Vientiane, Lao PDR, in conjunction with the 24th ASEAN Energy Business Forum (AEBF) 2024, stands as Southeast Asia’s highest accolade in the energy sector. Organised by the ASEAN Centre for Energy and hosted by the Ministry of Energy and Mines (MEM) of Lao PDR, the event honours organisations that make significant contributions to advancing energy efficiency, renewable energy, and clean energy adoption. PLC’s win aligns with the forum’s broader mission to promote regional collaboration and sustainability best practices within the private sector.

PLC’s emergence as the winner in the Energy Efficient Building – Tropical Building Category is a reflection of its three core pillars: Leadership, Innovation, and Sustainability. While sustainability is always a work in progress, the PLC campus was designed with sustainability in mind, integrating green building practices and efficient energy usage into its core operations. This recognition marks just one of many steps PLC is taking to support PETRONAS’ long-term sustainability agenda.

The ASEAN Energy Awards 2024 featured nominees from across Southeast Asia, representing various industries. In the competitive Energy Efficient Buildings – Tropical Building category, PLC stood out for its commitment to energy-efficient design and operations, alongside distinguished finalists Siriwitthayalak Building, Faculty of Learning Science and Education, Thammasat University, Thailand, and Food Junction, PT Pakuwon Jati, TBK, Indonesia. The award was proudly received by Masalina Ujang, representing PLC, with M Redzuan A Hamid from PLC and Azril Amir Jaafar from Veritas.
